Retrofitted vehicles—combustion engine models converted to run on electricity—are now joining La Poste's fleet. After unveiling an initial prototype at the Solutrans tradeshow in 2023, Qinomic and La Poste, through its subsidiary Véhiposte, are now taking a decisive step forward with the conversion of several models. To date, seven vehicles have already been retrofitted, one of which has been in operation for several months in Aix-en-Provence. The aim is to support the decarbonization of the postal fleet based on feedback before rolling out the initiative more widely across the country. Each retrofitted vehicle reduces greenhouse gas emissions by an average of56% compared to the purchase of a new electric vehicle. This rollout is part of a national initiative, in line with La Poste's CSR commitments and sustainable mobility strategy.
Véhiposte is committed to innovative and responsible mobility
A pioneer in the electrification of its fleet, Véhiposte has opted for retrofitting to extend the life of its combustion-engine vehicles and accelerate its energy transition. By leveraging the technology developed by Qinomic, Véhiposte is demonstrating its commitment to integrating concrete, innovative, and carbon-free solutions into a circular economy approach.
« La Poste is fully committed to reducing the carbon footprint of its activities. At Véhiposte, we have opted for retrofitting, an innovative and responsible solution that allows us to rapidly deploy a fleet of high-performance electric vehicles nationwide, while helping to extend the life of our existing vehicles,” says Eve Pietriga, CEO of Véhiposte.
